Group Bookings Along Palmers Lane

Palmers Lane is home to small boutique Cellar Doors. There is a lovely world of cellar door only wines, condiments, vintage wares, handmade treasures and gourmet food to discover…not to mention all the locals to meet!

Because we are small and boutique, we do request that groups over 8 please make a booking so as to ensure we can provide the best level of service and avoid any disappointment if Cellar Doors are busy.

Pokolbin Brothers Wines

Pokolbin Brothers Wines is a small, family owned boutique wine business specialising in estate grown, hand-picked wines; Chardonnay, Shiraz Merlot, Sparkling Moscato and Liqueur Muscat.

Waverley Estate

Waverley Estate specialise in aged wines. The Estate offers Semillon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. Savour the romance of the cellar door or enjoy the stunning views.

Calais Estate

Calais Estate is home to one of the largest ranges of boutique wines in the Valley, as well as the renowned Verandah Restaurant and the vintage modern homewares store, Come What May.

This is the perfect place to stop along the trail for some lunch as well as a tasting and a little bit of shopping! 

There are several options available for dining on Calais Estate. From a casual picnic to a tantalising tapas lunch, the Estate has a lot to offer! The Verandah Restaurant serves modern Australian, tapas style, Thursday-Sunday lunch and dinner. For more casual dining there are also gourmet picnic packs and cheese packs available through Cellar Door, 7 days a week, that can be enjoyed anywhere on the Estate or taken away.

Cellar Door is open 7 days a week, 9am-5pm mon-sat, 10am-5pm Sunday.

The Verandah Restaurant is open for lunch 7 days and dinner Thursday – Sunday

Booking information:

  • All groups over 8 must make a booking to ensure we can provide the highest level of service and avoid any disappointment if the Cellar Door is busy.
  • Private Groups over 12 will be charged a small tasting fee of $5 per person which is refunded on any wine purchases.
  • We also have other group booking options available such as champagne making sessions, food and wine matched tastings, or combining lunch with a tasting, so please feel free to ring and talk to our team about your individual requirements 02 4998 7654.
  • It is best to book with the Verandah Restaurant as they do get very busy especially on weekends.  02 4998 7231 www.verandahrestaurant.com.au.
  • As a simple guide for timings, we suggest you allow 1 - 1.5hours at Calais for a wine tasting and a little look in the shop and around the grounds…longer if you want to have something to eat.
  • If you are on bikes: It is a very picturesque ride through the vineyard from Waverley, fairly flat with a downhill slope at the end into the Cellar Door car park (allow 10-15mins or a little longer if you want to linger in the vineyard). It is a short ride mainly downhill to Moorebank (about 5-10mins). We also offer free delivery of any wine or shop purchases back to your bike hire location.

 


Moorebank Private Vineyard

Moorebank is a family boutique vineyard estate where outstanding wines come from outstanding grapes. Offering a complete range of ultra premium wines for tasting along with a range of Ginseng infused wines.

Moorebank is also renowned for a complete range of wine inspired, organically grown, handmade condiments available for complimentary samplings within Cellar Door, including the famous Spicy Grape Sauce, Spice Pickled Grapes and Grape Semillon Spread as well as the refreshing handmade lemonade.

Hunter Valley Cheese and Vineyard Condiments Picnic Plates are available, along with other snacks, glasses of wine and fresh lemonade, to be enjoyed in a picturesque country setting.

Meet “Sheila” the famous pet black sheep (who has a wine named after her) along with 8 other beautiful sheep, geese, chickens and cats.

For larger groups our “Press Room” is also available as a private tasting area - built from local rammed earth and slab timber beams, it is home to our old family vineyard Wine Press built in the 1860’s.

Booking Information:

  • $5 wine tasting charge per person, redeemable on the purchase of your first bottle of wine
  • We offer Grapemobile Bicycle Hire guests a FREE tasting of 3 ultra premium wines of your choice, if you would then like to continue on and taste our complete range of wines there is a $5.00pp charge. This charge is redeemable on the purchase of your first bottle of wine. 
  • Condiments and lemonade tasting is complimentary
  • Bookings for groups of 8 people or more is essential
  • We also provide free delivery of all wine and condiments back to the Grapemobile Bicycle Hire base at 5pm each day.
  • Allow approximately 40-45 minutes at Moorebank for Wine & condiment tastings.
  • Moorebank is a 5 - 10 minute walk or ride from adjoining vineyard estates Calais & Gemelli and approximately 15 - 25 minute walk or ride directly to or from Grapemobile Bicycle Hire.
  • Orders for Cheese and Condiment Picnic plates may be made in advance ready for your arrival.

 

 


Gemelli Estate

Gemelli Estate is a small, boutique, family owned vineyard, growing the Chardonnay, Merlot and Muscat Grapes.

Laze away your afternoon, sampling our handpicked wines, that you can then purchase by the glass or the bottle to enjoy with a Cheese Platter whilst taking in the views.

Indulge further and book in for our monthly High Tea or stay in our quaint cottage on the property.
